Alchemy Surgery Center is a single-suite operating room tenant improvement developed as an extension of Tucson Plastic Surgery, creating a seamless continuation of the practice's boutique, patient-centered experience. Designed to support patients from consultation through surgery and post-operative care, the space reinforces the same sense of comfort, familiarity, and trust established by the adjacent practice. A calming palette of warm earth tones, strategic lighting, and carefully curated finishes creates a refined, hospitality-inspired environment while meeting the rigorous requirements of healthcare and life safety codes. Through thoughtful space planning, the surgical suite was optimized to maximize efficiency while preserving approximately 1,100 square feet for a future skin and wellness boutique (Glow Skin + Wellness), allowing the physicians to expand their brand and patient services within the same building. One of the region's largest single operating rooms serves as the centerpiece of the facility, while custom branding, interior wayfinding, and signage—developed in collaboration with our studio's graphics team—reinforce a cohesive identity across both locations.
As the Lead Senior Interior Designer and Project Manager, I guided the project from concept through construction, serving as the primary design lead and client contact. I coordinated with architects, consultants, contractors, furniture vendors, lighting specialists, and signage partners to deliver a cohesive, high-end surgical environment. My responsibilities included space planning, finish and material selection, project documentation, construction administration, furniture procurement coordination, healthcare code compliance, and design leadership throughout the project.
